Charter Communications will roll out its all-digital platform next month for its customers in the Mankato area.
The upgrade, scheduled for Aug. 5 in Mankato, will enable Charter to regain bandwidth and thereby boost Internet speeds. Speeds will double from 30 Mbps to 60 Mbps.
The upgrading in format — which is being performed across the company's operating markets — will provide an enhanced video product with more than 200 high-definition channels and thousands of video-on-demand options.
Charter's customers may be impacted at different times, depending on their geographic location.
There will be no additional service charges associated with Charter’s move to an all-digital platform. Customers will need to contact Charter and make arrangements to have digital set-top boxes issued for their televisions. The company will provide for free at least one digital box per costumer.
