NORTH MANKATO — A Habitat for Humanity house may eventually be built on a city-owned site in lower North Mankato following action Tuesday by the North Mankato Port Authority.

The panel set a public hearing for 7:30 a.m. Oct. 30 regarding the sale of a vacant parcel on the 800 block of Park Avenue.

That property potentially would be sold to Habitat for Humanity, an organization that builds affordable homes in partnership with people in need.

The Port Authority also authorized sale of an adjacent vacant lot to Matt Raker of North Mankato.

The city had razed two structures on those parcels — one an old house and the other a vacated commercial building in foreclosure that had been converted to rental units.
