Today Congressman Tim Walz announced his STOCK Act has secured the necessary number of votes to pass the House of Representatives.
This morning, the bill reached 218 co-sponsors, enough to pass the legislation. By mid-afternoon, the bill had 222 co-sponsors.
“The time to bring the STOCK Act to the floor is now,” said Walz, a Democrat from Mankato. “We can now pass this bill. We need to ensure the people of this country know that lawmakers are working in their best interests, and not the interests of their own bank account. Americans need to know that their elected leaders play by the same rules as everyone else.”
