Hentges receives high marks, raise in council's evaluation

— The Mankato City Council gave City Manager Pat Hentges high marks and a raise during a recent evaluation session.

The session was closed, but the city supplied a summary of Hentges’ performance review.

The council was unanimous in its evaluation of Hentges’ outstanding performance and pleased with his efforts in meeting the city’s strategic goals, including management of day-to-day activities of a $100 million budget. Hentges followed strategic plan initiatives set by the council, including fiscal management, long-range planning and professional development.

The council noted how Hentges expanded the 311 Mankato customer service center to include a live chat option and also extended hours to 6 p.m.  In addition, the council said Hentges’ continued relationship building with private and public sectors is an asset to Mankato and the region because collaborative efforts in service delivery result in efficient use of tax dollars in a changing environment.

Hentges was given a 2 percent increase effective in January, adjusting his salary to $143,947. He had not received a salary increase in four of the last 10 years.
