State Patrol names new Mankato District leader

MANKATO — A St. James Marine veteran, who served as a military police officer with the president's helicopter squadron in Quantico, has been named as the new commander of the State Patrol's Mankato District.

Lt. Jeremy Geiger has been a trooper since 1998 and is a graduate of St. James High School. He will replace Capt. Lori Hodapp, who has accepted an assignment as commander and director of the State Patrol Training and Development Center in the Twin Cities.

Hodapp is a 29-year veteran of the patrol who has served as commander in Mankato for 10 years. Geiger was promoted Tuesday in St. Paul.
