Indoor Easter egg hunt is still all wet

New Ulm Rec Center hosts hunt a seventh time

NEW ULM — It certainly wasn’t your average Easter egg hunt Friday at the New Ulm Recreation Center. Sure, there were plastic eggs filled with prizes and kids racing to collect as many as they could. In this one, kids had to do a little more work.

This is the seventh year the New Ulm Rec Center has hosted an Easter egg hunt in the center’s indoor pool. The hunt is the brain child of program supervisor Carrie Anderson and has grown in numbers ever since.

Some concessions have to be made when having an Easter egg hunt in a pool. Most of the eggs contained a laminated piece of paper with a number or symbol that matched up with a prize, instead of being filled with chocolate or jelly beans. There were also a dozen golden eggs, which matched up to bigger prizes.
