The same two large Mankato-area projects -- civic center upgrades and renovations to the MInnesota Security Hospital in St. Peter -- that appeared in Gov. Mark Dayton's bonding proposal also made it into the House version, released earlier today.
The two versions of the state's borrowing bill for construction projects turned out to be much the same. The Senate has yet to release its version.
The major difference for local projects is the Security Hospital's allocation, which was $36.3 million in the House proposal but more than $50 million in the governor's. The Mankato civic center allocation remained at $14.5 million.
Whether or not the projects get funded in a final bill will depend on negotiations, but inclusion in these proposals is a good sign.
