MAPLETON — A 65-year-old North Mankato woman was injured Thursday evening when the car she was driving on Highway 22 near Mapleton collided with a deer, sending half of the deer through the windshield.
Patricia Bohn was in fair condition Friday morning at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato hospital.
Bohn was driving a northbound 2003 Chevrolet Malibu about 6:15 p.m. and was near the highway’s intersection with 161 Street when the car struck a deer, the State Patrol said. The animal’s body was severed into two parts. One piece of the carcass went through the windshield on the driver’s side of the vehicle, the patrol said.
