MANKATO — The names of the drivers involved in the crash and rollover at Main and Second streets Saturday afternoon have been released by Mankato police.
Mary Jean Ites, 57, was driving a Chevrolet Blazer north on Second Street at about 12:45 p.m. and failed to yield at a red light when the vehicle was struck broadside by a Mercury Villager minivan headed west on Main Street, according to authorities. The minivan was driven by Lori Ann Schneider, 45, and she had two boys in the vehicle.
The Blazer T-boned and rolled onto its roof in the westbound lane of Main Street. Mankato Fire Department worked to extricate Ites from the Blazer, and she and Schneider were taken by Gold Cross to Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato where they were treated and released.
The boys were not injured.
