The CEO of Minnetonka-based Michael Foods said little change in the company is expected once they are purchased by cereal maker Post.
Privately held Michael is being sold for $2.45 billion.
Michael has a large facility in Gaylord that raises hens and processes eggs and a smaller egg plant in Le Sueur.
About one third of Michael's 3,700 employees are based in Minnesota, most in the headquarters and at a large Simply Potatoes plant in Chaska.
Michael Foods is the sixth-largest U.S. egg producer with 11.3 million laying hens at the end of 2013, according to Egg Industry, a trade publication.
St. Louis-based Post says Michael's will keep operating independently under current management.
