MANKATO — The Minnesota Court of Appeals will hear a Blue Earth County salary dispute on June 19 in St. Paul.
The appellate court also announced the makeup of the three-judge panel that will decide whether Martin County Judge Robert Walker was correct in his ruling last year that the Blue Earth County Board had violated state law in setting salaries for assistant county attorneys.
County Attorney Ross Arneson took legal action after arguing with County Administrator Bob Meyer and commissioners for more than two years about the pay scale for Arneson's assistants, which he said was unreasonably low compared to similar counties in Minnesota.
Judges John Smith, Kevin Ross and Louise Dovre Bjorkman will listen to 15 minutes of oral arguments from the attorney representing the County Board, which appealed Walker's decision, 15 minutes from the attorney representing Arneson and five minutes of rebuttal from the board's attorney.
The hearing will be at the Minnesota Judicial Center on the state Capitol complex in St. Paul.
