Suspect arrested after knife assault

MANKATO — A 22-year-old Mankato man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly assaulted three other men with a knife in their residence in the 200 block of Fulton Street Sunday morning.

A fourth resident, who wasn't involved in the assault, called police at about 4:15 a.m. to report the incident, said Cmdr. Jeremy Clifton of the Mankato Department of Public Safety. The three victims, who were not identified by Clifton, were treated at the hospital and released.

Saud Rashid Al-Qahtani was identified by the victims as the man who assaulted them. He was arrested without incident later Sunday morning at his residence.

Police suspect the assault was related to a drug deal that had just taken place or had taken place earlier, Clifton said.
