Police officers at the scene were unable to comment. However, they confirmed there were two scenes for the incident. The second scene was near the intersection of West Lind Street and Lake Street, near Hiniker Pond. Police officers were seen searching the fields along West Lind with flashlights.

Several Mankato police squad cars were at the intersection of Range Street and West Lind Street, just north of the Hiniker Pond area, after 9 p.m.

Police tape had been placed across the streets and in the parking lot of the Neighborhood Thrift Store.

A white truck with its left front tire bent off the axle was in the parking lot of the Neighborhood Thrift Store, which was closed off by police.

A person at the Days Inn said he heard gunshots, but no further information was available.
