E-cig ban falters at Legislature

Not enough House votes for public buildings ban

ST. PAUL — An effort to ban electronic cigarettes in public buildings has faltered, though a compromise would ban them in all state, city and county buildings.

The health and human services bill would not pass the House with the statewide ban, said Rep. Tina Liebling, DFL-Rochester.

“At the present time I believe we would not have the votes to pass the conference report with this in in it,” she said Tuesday afternoon.
