---- — Workers spent Tuesday morning pouring a new concrete floor for the ice sheet at the Verizon Wireless Center. The work is part of a $1.4 million project to replace the nearly two-decade-old ice-making system in the Verizon Wireless Center and $263,000 to replace the dasher boards for the hockey rink.

It took most of Tuesday morning to pour the 300 yards of concrete over the new system. It will take 28 days to cure completely.
