South Central Minnesota Pride organizes events all year long, making sure the LGBT community and its allies have a place to go for support, to talk about how they feel or to simply get together with like-minded people in rural Minnesota. One of the organization’s most visible events took place this weekend in the Mankato Pridefest.
A parade down Riverfront Drive ended at Riverfront Park Saturday, where music played and people smiled as they gathered together to have fun and share the afternoon. Booths throughout the park offered information and support to the LGBT community.
The event ended with Saturday night’s dance at the Morson Ario VFW.
