MANKATO — An annual event that raises money for Rett syndrome research and veterans is scheduled to take place Saturday at Buster's Sports Bar & Grill.
The sixth annual ChiliFest will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants can enjoy bowls of homemade chili for a $7 entrance fee while celebrity judges decide which chili is best. More than 20 entrants will each be cooking up gallons of chili to compete for the top prize.
The event also includes a bean bag tournament, live music, kids' games and a raffle.
Proceeds will benefit the Minnesota Rett Syndrome Research Association and the Wounded Warriors Guide Service, a group that provides hunting experiences for area veterans.
