— A snow emergency in Mankato will go into effect at 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, and is expected to last through 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 6.

When a snow emergency is declared, there is no parking on streets so snow can be removed quickly and efficiently.

Temporary parking is available downtown at no cost in the Mankato Place and Civic Center parking ramps during snow emergencies. Parking is also allowed in yards during a snow emergency.

The only exception is where streets are posted "seasonal no parking."

For more information, call Mankato's 24-hour snow emergency line at 387-9001.
