Minnesota State football coach Todd Hoffner has been placed on administrative leave, according to a university official.
According to sources, Hoffner was escorted off the Minnesota State football practice field Friday by university and other officials.
Dan Benson, the director of media relations at Minnesota State, said the only comment he could make was that Hoffner has been placed on administrative leave.
Minnesota State athletic director Kevin Buisman said that offensive coordinator Aaron Keen is leading the football program until further notice.
Hoffner could not be reached for comment.
The Mavericks began fall practice on Aug. 11 and open the season Aug. 30 at Minot State.
