Loyola High School names new principal

Sam Cotton to begin duties in August

MANKATO —  Loyola Catholic School has chosen a new high school principal.

Sam Cotton, principal of St. Felix Elementary in Wabasha, will assume his duties in August.

Cotton previously served at Loyola as dean of students in 2011/2012. He also led the school¹s recruitment and retention committee.

Cotton received his master's degree in teaching and licensure as a K-12 principal through Minnesota State University. Since 2005, he has worked in the classroom and as an administrator in public and private schools.

Loyola Catholic School is a K-12 school system with three schools.

Shelley Schultz is serving as interim principal of the high school, along with being the president of the Loyola school system.

Loyola is interviewing candidates for the president position.
