Nicollet native's remains interred at Pearl Harbor

The remains of Nicollet native Ed Wentzlaff were interred on the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor on Saturday.

Wentzlaff died in September at age 95 and was possibly the last Minnesota survivor of the Japanese attack on the USS Arizona, in which a vast majority of the men on board died.

Wentzlaff farmed most of his life near Butterfield. About 50 of his relatives and friends attended the Navy ceremony at Pearl Harbor on Saturday, which was the 72nd anniversary of the attack.
