An officer stopped the car near the Eastport Apartments complex south of the ball fields. She found three males in the car, including 18-year-old Dylan Andrew Nichols.

4. Mapleton man dies in farm accident

A 70-year-old rural Mapleton man died May 11 in a farm accident.

Paul John Andreszcuk was pronounced dead after an Allis Chalmers D-17 tractor he was driving rolled over in a ditch and pinned him underneath, according to the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Department. The accident occurred about 5:30 p.m. five miles west of Mapleton.

While a Gold Cross ambulance was responding to the scene it was hit by a turkey, shattering the windshield of the ambulance.

No one was injured in that incident and the ambulance proceeded to the scene.

5. Suspect arrested in marijuana robbery

Police arrested another suspect in robbery that resulted from a drug deal gone bad May 9.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested shortly after the incident was reported by a witness at Jaycees Park. Police were told a group of three men were at the park to sell marijuana when the boy and another male arrived and robbed them at gunpoint.

Mankato police initially reported the boy was the robber. They now suspect the person with the gun was Moroma Omot Olok, 19, of Mankato, police said.

Olok was arrested without incident in the 200 block of Jaycee Court on Wednesday.
