MANKATO — A bar discussion that ended with a punch being thrown resulted in an Albert Lea man being arrested early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the Red Rocks bar downtown at about 1:50 a.m. for a report of an assault. They were told a man ran from the bar after punching a 21-year-old man in the back of the head. Officers searched the area and found Jeremy Daniel Schmidt hiding in some bushes near the bar, said Sgt. Justin Neumann of the Mankato Department of Public Safety.
Schmidt was arrested without incident. His victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for a cut on the back of his head and a swollen face.
