MANKATO — Authorities are still investigating why a man fell to his death from the fifth level of the Mankato Place parking ramp.
Richard Douglas Breczinski, age 41, of Mankato, was found in the alley between the ramp and Mankato Place mall at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was rushed to Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital where he later died.
No foul play is suspected, but authorities say they cannot yet determine if Breczinski’s death was the result of an accident or suicide.
Detective Commander Matt DuRose said Breczinski had been employed by a temporary agency, and had been assigned to clean the ramp. He said police plan to examine surveillance footage from cameras placed throughout the ramp to determine the manner of death.
DuRose said they’re unaware of anyone who may have witnessed the fall.
