Update: Belle Plaine man in critical after street sweeper accident

---- — LAKE CRYSTAL — A 53-year-old Belle Plaine man remained hospitalized Friday with injuries he suffered when the street sweeper he was driving was struck by a semi Thursday afternoon west of Lake Crystal.

Thomas Cody was in critical condition Friday morning at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

The State Patrol said Cody was driving east on Highway 60 about 1:40 p.m. when the street sweeper he was driving was struck by an eastbound Peterbilt semi truck driven by Justin Grimmius, 25, of Lake Wilson. The street sweeper rolled into the median. Grimmius was not injured.
