---- — Looks like our online poll respondents will be a healthy bunch this flu season.
Our latest question, spurred by the announcement that a new flu shot will be available this year that covers more strain of the potentially dangerous virus, asked: After last year’s banner flu season, are you more likely to get a flu shot this year?
With 61 percent (52 votes,) this answer pulled in a solid majority: “Yes. When inexpensive flu shots are readily available, it’s silly to not get one.”
Just 33 percent (28 votes) went with the opposit view: “No. I’ve never had a flu shot and I’ve never had the flu.”
Comments at our Facebook page included:
n Kevin Johnson: “Ten years ago, I skipped the seasonal flu shot and caught the flu five times from December through May. I haven’t skipped it since and have been influenza-free. I try to get it as soon as I hear it’s available.”
n Keith Michels: “No.”
n Anni Like: “I’m getting a flu shot for the first time this year. Not because of last year, or even because I got ‘swine flu’ a few years ago, but because they are providing them at work. I wouldn’t bother if not for the convenience. I’m that lazy.”
