You have to get the juice out of the grapes somehow if you’re going to make wine. You might as well have fun doing it.
The folks at Janesville’s Indian Island Winery’s grape stomp made sure visitors to the winery Saturday had a good time by turning their grape stomp into a competition, with the pair squeezing the most juice from their grapes winning a half a case of Indian Island wine. Visitors gathered on the winery’s patio with bottles of wine to watch the slippery process unfold in tubs scattered on the winery’s lawn.
Prizes were given to the top four juice producers at the grape stomp. The pair with the most creative costumes also won a prize.
