Man arrested after liquor store ransacked

Man threw a brick through window at Joseph's liquor

MANKATO — A 25-year-old Mankato man was arrested Thursday night after allegedly throwing a brick through a window at Joseph's Off Sale Liquor and ransacking the store.

Police were called at 7:30 p.m. to the 402 North Fourth St. business after witnesses said Dosman Kizito Charles threw a brick through the window, came in the store and broke bottles of alcohol, threatened those in the store and then fled with a bottle of liquor.

Police located Charles, who was on foot, a short time later. He faces charges of robbery and criminal damage to property.

Police said Charles had been drinking. He displayed no weapons during the confrontation. Police said they have surveillance camera evidence and accounts from an employee and others who were in the store at the time.
