MONTGOMERY — Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office is seeking information about an incident Wednesday evening when a rural Montgomery man was knocked unconscious and robbed.
Charles Landau was struck on the head with an ax handle during a robbery Wednesday evening at his residence.
Le Sueur County deputies responded to a call about 6 p.m. Wednesday reporting Landau had been assaulted and robbed about two hours earlier, soon after he sold tires and rims to two men in their late 20s-early 30s. Landau said two Latino males driving a white Chevrolet pickup with a long box met with him to negotiate the purchase of tires and rims.
After a price was agreed on, the tires and rims were loaded into the pickup. Landau said he was walking to a shed to write out a receipt for the purchase when one of the males struck him with an ax handle. When he awoke, he discovered the money paid to him had been removed from his pocket.
Landau was treated at the hospital in New Prague and later released.
Anyone with information on this incident should call Le Sueur County Sheriff’s office at 507-357-4440.
