The Mankato Free Press

---- — BLUE EARTH — The driver of a semi-trailer was not injured when the vehicle was struck by a train Tuesday morning at Marna, between Blue Earth and Frost.

Faribault County deputies said Lowell Robert Flohrs, 66, of Fairmont was driving north on Faribault County Road 13 about 7:40 a.m. and had stopped a railroad crossing. The sun affected his vision and he began to cross the tracks before he saw the approaching eastbound Union Pacific engine.

The train collided with the back of the semi. The grain trailer was empty at the time of the accident.
