Charge filed for bathroom videos

MANKATO — A 25-year-old Wisconsin man is facing a gross misdemeanor invasion of privacy charge for allegedly using a video camera hidden in a clothes hanger to record women in a bathroom while he was living in Mankato.

One of the women contacted Mankato police in June to report that Aaron David Nemoyer had admitted to her, her roommate and his ex-wife that he had made the recordings. All four had lived in a residence on North Fifth Street when Nemoyer and his wife were still married.

The criminal complaint said the two victims lived in an apartment below Nemoyer and his ex-wife when he put the hanger in their bathroom while visiting. Nemoyer's ex-wife said she found about 30 short videos on the computer and confronted him in July 2012. The videos, showing the victims naked in the bathroom, had been taken about a month earlier, the complaint said.

A court date has been set for Dec. 19.
