MANKATO — An expert on radical Islamic terrorism will speak at the Mankato City Center Hotel this evening. It is open to the public.
Brigitte Gabriel's talk is sponsored by the Southern Minnesota Tea Party. She founded ACT! for America, which is dedicated to preserving national security and combating radical Islam.
Her critical statements about Islam have stirred up controversy in the past. But the area Tea Party "considers the vast majority of followers of Islam to be good and decent people," said Andy Johnson, a local Tea Party organizer.
Doors open to the event at 6 p.m., and there is free parking beneath the hotel.
