Rural Nicollet man to run for House seat

Special election Feb. 12

NICOLLET — Rural Nicollet resident Tim Gieseke announced Tuesday that he will run for District 19A House seat and seek the endorsement of the Independence Party.

“The timing is right to create ‘the right space’ and move toward innovative policy and debate. Voters are hungry for a fresh approach that focuses on solutions and not on party politics,” Gieske said in a press release.

Gieseke said his business, Ag Resource Strategies, has over the past five years been involved in applying shared governance models for agriculture and environmental issue at the local, state and national levels for government agencies and NGOs and he sees that it can work for other issues.

Republicans seeking Morrow’s seat are Joel Brinker, Jim Golgart and Allen Quist.

Democrats vying for the post are Karl Johnson, Clark Johnson and Robin Courrier.

The special election will be Feb. 12, and primary Jan. 29 if needed.
