News & Comment: When will Washington work? It does, sometimes
If you read the latest news and commentary out of Washington D.C., you'll get the impression that absolutely nothing works, that a small town city council, for example, could do a much better job of running the country. You'd be partially right, but temper your angst, there are rays of hope.

The school shooting hoax in New Prague Wednesday reminded me of another such call about 16 years ago. That was an incident at Le Sueur High School that was no hoax.
