MANKATO — A North Mankato man allegedly threatened patrons at downtown Mankato bars with a knife.
Police were called to a report that Mowlid Abdi Ahmed, 26, had a knife at The Square Deal bar on Front Street early Sunday morning, according to the criminal complaint. Officers found a folding knife in Ahmed's pocket and he claimed he never took it out of his pocket.
Two men then approached police to report Ahmed had pulled a knife on them late Saturday night at another establishment. They alleged Ahmed pointed a knife at them in a threatening manner and tried to fight with them.
Ahmed was charged Tuesday in Blue Earth County District Court with felony assault with a dangerous weapon.
