Doloris "Dee" Ione Aho Brown

AMBOY — North Mankato resident, Doloris "Dee" Ione Aho Brown, age 81, died surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Oak Terrace in North Mankato. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in Mankato with Rev. Chris Conlin, officiating.  Private burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Woodland Hills Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

  Dee was born May 24, 1932 in Terrebonne, MN. She grew up and attended school

in Thief River Falls. She met Frank Brown when he was chaplain at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and the couple was married on September 4, 1982 in Kansas City, MO. She worked for Commerce Bank in Kansas City for 10 years. Prior to moving to Kansas City, Dee worked for Jim Martel at the Holiday House and also Brett's Dept. Store. Dee loved gardening, playing solitaire, and most of all cooking fabulous meals and spending time with her family. Her love and fierce determination will be missed by all who shared her journey.

  She is survived by her husband, Frank of North Mankato; children, Karen Emery of Colorado Springs, CO, Andrea Leibowitz of Newbury Park, CA; Barbara Healy (best friend, Donny) of Mankato, Kim (Jerry) Covey of Good Thunder, MN; step children, Ginger (best friend, John) LeVan of Rochester, MN, Mark (Terri) Brown of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, John, Rachel, Zachary, Kelly, Casey Jo, Jenna, Katie, Heidi, Holly, Daryl, Jessica, Lowell, Gary, Christy, Greg, and Kyle; great grandchildren, Christopher, Jordyn, Simeon, Trinidy, Leah, Nash, Alli, Payton, Joseph Robert, Drake, Collin, Kiera, Ethan, and Audi; sister, Betty; She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Aho and son, John John.
