---- —   Charles Raymond Amberg, age 76, passed peacefully into God's arms on Friday, January 3, 2014, at his home in rural Bricelyn, MN.  He was lovingly embraced in his last hours by his three sons, Todd Vincent, Tyrell Charles, Thad Tomas, and his wife, Mary Lee "Teita".  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, MN.  Visitation will be Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn, MN. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service at church Thursday.  Father Peter Klein will officiate and interment will be private for family only at a later date.  Please see www.brussheitner.com to leave online condolences.  Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn is in charge of arrangements.

 Charles was born July 24, 1937, in to William Raymond Amberg and Ida Elizabeth (Murphy) Amberg in Waseca, MN. He resided in Waseca until the family moved to Mankato, where he graduated from Mankato High School in 1955.  After a stint with the Marines at Camp Pendleton, CA, he returned to Mankato, and there he met Mary Lee "Teita" Ackerman.  They were united in marriage at St. John's Catholic Church on November 29, 1958.  In 1967, they moved to Eldora, IA, and then to Nevada, IA.  Charles was employed by Kraus/Gentle Oil Company for his entire working career in Iowa, as a District Supervisor for 16 of the company's K/G Station Stores.  After their three boys graduated from Nevada High School, Charles and his wife Teita opted to adventure up to Alaska to work in a remote site gold mine--Nyac Mining Company, in Nyac, Alaska, for 14 years, where Charles processed raw product into "Miner's Bars".  He eventually became general manager, and then Vice President of the company.  After retiring from the mine in 1996, Charles opened and operated Amberg One Stop convenience station store in Elmore, MN until 2008.  He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Charles and Teita celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on November 29, 2013.  

 Charles is survived by his wife Mary Lee "Teita" Ackerman Amberg; 3 sons:  Todd Vincent (Janelle) Amberg of Las Vegas, NV, Tyrell Charles (Leslie) Amberg of Anchorage, AK, Thad Tomas (Emily) Amberg of Bricelyn; 10 grandchildren:  Ryle and Alicia of Anchorage, AK, Aydan, Taylor, Logan, Marshall of Las Vegas, NV, Jeremiah "JT" of Minneapolis, Zachary of Mankato, Seth of Tulsa, OK, Kirsten of Mankato; a sister Mary (Pat) Bauer; 2 sisters-in-law:  Gail Glashan and Mary Dahl, along with numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert and Walter.
