Steven Wayne "Coopie" Cooper


—    Steven Wayne "Coopie" Cooper, age 50, of Mapleton, died on Friday, November 22, 2013, surrounded by his family at his residence following a long battle with cancer.

   Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mapleton, with Rev. Vicki Hultine officiating.  Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the church, and continues one hour prior to the service.  Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

   Steven was born on August 6, 1963, in Poplar Bluff, MO, to Randall and JoAnn (Poffinbarger) Cooper.  He was a 1981 graduate of Sikeston High School in Sikeston, MO.  Steven was united in marriage to Judy Oeltjenbruns on December 4, 1986, in Poplar Bluff.  He was employed with BCI - Brunz Construction and Zahl Equipment.  Steven enjoyed life, ice fishing, fish10.00ing, hunting, working on hot rods, and time spent with his family, especially his granddaughters and pets.

   Steven is survived by his wife, Judy of Mapleton; three children, Amber (Dusty) Springer, Derek (Stephanie) Cooper, and Cody (Kaci) Cooper, all of Mapleton; three grandchildren, Kyera and Briella Springer, and Piper Cooper; mother, JoAnn Cooper of Wright City, MO; brother, Randall (Penny) Cooper of Wright City, MO; sister, Neta Wilson of Dexter, MO; also many nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his father and a sister-in-law, Martha Oeltjenbruns.
