Edward E. Rom


—   Edward "Ed" Rom, Mankato, died Oct. 3, 2012. He was born in Anchorage, Alaska, Aug. 8, 1950, and grew up in Ely, Minnesota. He lived in Minneapolis and Bemidji before moving to Mankato.

 He was an Army veteran, having served in Korea and Germany. He attended Bemidji State and Mankato State.

  Ed was a true polymath and active in the science fiction and fantasy community as writer, editor and conference participant.  

  He is survived by his sisters; Sue Zuriff, Mpls, and Sandy Rom, Las Vegas, NV., nephew; Dan Zuriff, Rosemount, step-siblings, Alan Maki (Rosemary), Babbitt, Jane Maki, Mpls,  Clarice Haapala (Bob), Eveleth and Mavis Doub, (Gene), Benson, AZ, as well as many friends.
