Thomas Henry Beck

AMBOY —   Thomas Henry Beck died December 22, 2013 of Interstitial Lung Disease in Medford, OR. Tom was born in Flandreau, S. Dakota to Edna (Legenhausen) and Charles M. Beck on Jan. 3, 1930. The family moved to Mankato, MN where he graduated from Mankato High School in 1948. He married Delores J. Weimar; they had five children, Virginia (Lon) Lien of Worthington, MN, Catherine (Jim) Sieberg of Lake Washington, MN, David Beck of Eveleth, MN, Nancy (Mark) Beadell of Mankato, MN, and Marilyn (Randy) Pierce of Janesville, MN. He later married Helen (Thomsen) Oliver. Tom worked for Xcel Energy (Northern States Power) for 40 years.  After he retired, he moved west where he spent the last 20 years. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, wild game feeds, and dancing.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lucy Theurer and Doretta Rau, wife Helen Beck, son David Beck, and son-in-law Jeffrey Oliver. He is survived by his four daughters, 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren as well as five stepchildren and six step grandchildren.

 Visitation begins at 2pm on Sat., Dec. 28, at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and Chapel in Mankato, MN, with services held at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Lung Association or Pheasants Forever.
