Pamela Faye Cushman (Budde)

— Pamela Faye Cushman (Budde)    October 4, 1965 - March 15, 2013

We are all travelers from birth to death. We travel between eternities. Pamela traveled more rapidly and farther than most. Her journey was completed in 47 years. Born in Mankato, MN, to Marilyn and Dean Budde. Pamela graduated from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse. She moved to Alaska in 1992 where she met and married Dave Cushman. Her marriage became a source of great joy, sustenance and support. Pam worked for major engineering firms in Alaska eventually launching her own successful venture, Cushman Consulting, which specialized in technical proposal writing. From countless jobs over time she gleaned invaluable experience and wonderful  contacts  who were supportive in this endeavor. Pam's brilliant mind and photographic memory served her well.  She read an average of three paperbacks per week. She possessed great courage and exhibited boundless positive energy and fearless self-expression.  An avid outdoors person, Pam always caught the largest fish.  Camping, hiking and gatherings around a campfire were favorites.  While her artistic and musical talents were evident, her consuming  passions  were travel and golf, often combined. Planning for future events and activities was Pam's forte'.  The interesting people she met in other cultures spurred her on to extensive overseas adventures.  Instinctively, Pam brought people together.  She was always looking forward to meeting new friends while cherishing those she had.  It was Pam's good fortune to be surrounded by the highest quality fun-loving friends.

Survived by husband, Dave Cushman, Chugiak, Alaska; father, Dean Budde, Mankato, MN; mother, Marilyn Budde (Bill Vogel), Minneapolis, MN; brothers Lee Budde (Jennifer), Big Lake, Alaska, Bradley Budde, Kodiak, Alaska; nephews August, Martin and Leo Budde, Big Lake, Alaska.  Pam's last journey was through rapidly-growing cancer.  At the end of the day, one is struck by her brilliance and loving spirit.  No one will ever think of Pam without her radiant smile.

A memorial service will be held at Kerns Oak Grove Cemetery in Mankato, MN, at 2pm Saturday May 18 followed by a Celebration of Life at the Dean Budde farm nearby.
