Peter Mark Fleischer

   Peter Mark Fleischer was called to his eternal home on January 29, 2013. Pete was born in Ripon, Wisconsin on February 5, 1942.

  Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Friday, February 8, 2013, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Mankato Mortuary is assisting with the arrangements.

  Pete worked as a career counselor, a community service coordinator and as a supervisor at the Mankato Rehabilitation Center. Later he was employed at Bloedel Monument, Fingerhut, Wells Fargo Bank and US Bank. He volunteered as a counselor in programs such as Big Brothers-Big Sisters, hospice care, chemical dependency and detox programs, March of Dimes, and many other organizations.

   Pete was a sport enthusiast and dedicated Packer fan, but of greatest importance to him was his faith in his Savior. He was an active member of Luther Memorial Church in Fond du Lac, WI, Grace Lutheran Church in Fridley, MN, and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato, MN.

   He is survived by brothers: Rev. Daniel (Barbara) Fleischer of Oakdale, MN, Rev. Paul (Laila) Fleischer of Cheyenne, WY, and Rev. Thomas Schuetze of Coloma, MI; three sisters: Ruth (Kark) Mueller of Mankato, Naomi (Paul) Pfeiffer of Lake Crystal, and Mary (Michael) Thom of New Ulm. He is survived also by many nephews and nieces by whom he was loved.

  Pete was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Marcus Fleischer; step-father, Rev. Waldemar Schuetze; mother Erma, nee Engel.

  In March, 2012, Pete moved to Lake Crystal, MN, where he lived with Naomi and Paul Pfeiffer who cared for him. He died peacefully in his sleep.

  Memorials may be directed to the Peruvian Mission effort at Immanuel or to Project Kinship, the church's orphanage in India.
