Sister Pauline Fritz, SSND


—  Sister Pauline Fritz, SSND, 86, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at Good Counsel, Mankato. Her Funeral Mass is Monday, July 1, 10:30 a.m. in Good Counsel Chapel.  Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Good Counsel, with 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service, and one hour before services Monday. Mankato Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.

 Sister Pauline (Elizabeth Fritz) was born in 1927 near Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Edward and Eleanore (Diekmann) Fritz.  Shortly after her birth, she moved with her family to a farm near Lafayette, MN, and then later to North Mankato. She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1944 and professed first vows in 1947. She taught and administered in elementary schools, and was the school supervisor of St. Paul-Minneapolis Archdiocesan schools for ten years. She also served as a pastoral minister and in ministry to the elderly.

 She is survived by her sisters, Sister Marion Fritz, SSND, Ivona Wichmann, Rosemary (Marlin) Reiners, and Lorraine (David) Kaiser, and brothers Marvin (Jan) and Bob. She was preceded in death by a brother, Loren.  For a full obituary, please visit
