Genevieve "Gen" Bresnahan Boys

— Genevieve "Gen" Bresnahan Boys, age 95, of St. Peter, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.

 Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation is from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Friday at St. Peter Funeral Home - Klein Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church. A Catholic Daughters Rosary will be said with the family at 3:45 pm on Friday and a Prayer Service is at 6:30pm Friday at the funeral home.

  Gen was born October 4, 1917, to Margaret Bresnahan Foley in Kansas City, Missouri. She attended John Ireland School and St. Peter High School. She worked at several restaurants until her employment at the St. Peter Treatment Center retiring after 30 years. She also received her GED and LPN degree while there.

  She married Robert Boys July 8, 1936, at St. Peter's Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1997. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter and was active in Catholic Daughters of the Americas and CCW. Her interests were bowling, playing cards, gardening, her animals and especially her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was proud of her Irish heritage and was the first of three generations to serve as Queen of St. Patrick's Day in St. Peter.

  Gen is survived by a son: William (Marge) of St. Peter; three daughters: Bev (Tim) Johnson of St. Peter, Margaret (Kenneth) Happ of Minnetonka and Kathleen (Chet) Niederstadt of Dexter; grandchildren: Colleen (Tim) Baker, Timothy (Casey Jorgenson) Johnson, Patricia (Tim) Allen, Thomas (Donna) Johnson, Bob (Kelly) Boys, Brad (Theresa) Boys, Barbara Boys, Michael Happ and Judith Theresa Happ; 18 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Oradell Mers; and care giver Mary Ann Kisor.
