Bernard Harry "Bernie" Lynch Jr.

—     Bernard Harry "Bernie" Lynch Jr., age 70, of rural St. Clair, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at his residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair, with Rev. Robert Schneider officiating.  Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.  Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. on Sunday at the church, and continues one hour prior to the church on Monday.  Mankato Mortuary handled the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the donor's choice.

Bernie was born May 17, 1943, in Mankato.  He was the son of Bernard and Genevieve (Phillips) Lynch Sr.  Bernie was a 1961 graduate of St. Clair High School.  Following school, Bernie farmed with his father.

Bernie was united in marriage to Karen Tacheny on June 25, 1964, in Mankato.  They moved to his grandfather's home place where they continued to farm and raise their two children, Brian and Julie.  In 1997, they built a home and entire farm yard on a bare 40 acres in rural St. Clair, where he and Karen continued to farm with the help of their son.  Farming was Bernie's lifelong interest and he had no plans to retire.

Bernie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair.  In earlier years, he enjoyed fishing up North and snowmobiling, with many snowmobile trips to Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin.  He thoroughly enjoyed teasing his grandchildren which was his way of showing them he loved them.

Bernie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Karen Lynch of rural St. Clair; son, Brian (Linda) Lynch of St. Clair; daughter, Julie (Matthew) Klages of Fairmont; grandchildren, Nicole, Marcus, and Danielle Lynch, and Jenna and Kylie Klages; mother, Genevieve Lynch of rural St. Clair; brothers, Robert (Sandra) Lynch of Eagan and Raymond (Shari) Lynch of Eagle Lake; niece, Kim Lynch and many other nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Jansen, Sr. June M. Tacheny, Bernice (Gary) Wilmes, and Rita Tacheny.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Lynch Sr.; three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
