AMBOY — Burt Klitzke
Burton Klitzke, 62, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013. Visitation will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 5:30 p.m., all on Friday, Dec. 20, at the Glencoe City Center, Glencoe.
Burton Lee Klitzke was born Oct. 11, 1951, in Glencoe. He was the son of Alfred and Lavone (Baumgardt) Klitzke. Burt was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith at St. Matthews Church in Fernando. He attended Stewart High School and graduated with the Class of 1969. He attended Mankato Technical College and received a degree in Refrigeration, Heating and Plumbing.
On April 22, 1972, Burt was united in marriage to Shirley Schmidt at St. George Catholic Church in Glencoe. This marriage was blessed with two children, Brad and Mandy. Burt and Shirley raised their family in Glencoe and moved to Darwin in 1998. They shared 41 years of marriage.
Burt spent 42 years in the agriculture industry working with Glencoe Co-op, Wacker Implement, Mueller Sales & Service and Jungclaus Implement. Burt was active in the Glencoe Fire Department, Relief Association and Knights of Columbus.
Burts biggest joys in his life involved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, socializing, telling and playing jokes. Burt especially cherished the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Burt will always be remembered as someone who is loving and caring. He passed away at the Hennepin County Medical Facility on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at the age of 62 years.

Burt is survived by his wife, Shirley Klitzke of Darwin; children, Brad Klitzke and his wife Nicole, of Chaska, Amanda Quist and her husband, Scot, of Cleveland; grandchildren, Myah Klitzke, Hailey Klitzke, Owen Quist, Ella Quist; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Burt was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Lavone Klitzke; sister, Diane; brother, Dean.
