Cletus "Clete" Lee Landsteiner, Sr., age 77, of Mankato, died on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at his home.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Tim Biren officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Clete was born on July 17, 1935, in Mankato, to George and Irene (Leet) Landsteiner. He graduated from Pemberton High School in 1953. Clete served in the United States Army from 1957-1959. On November 23, 1968, Clete was united in marriage to Donna Schulz in Mankato. He worked at Continental Can for 40 years. Clete was a lifetime member of the Eagles Club #269. He enjoyed bowling and watching television, especially watching NASCAR Racing and wrestling.
Clete is survived by his wife, Donna of Mankato; son, Lee (Cindy) Landsteiner of Waseca; daughter, Cathy (Chuck) Pickar of Brainerd; five grandchildren, Christine Pickar, Elizabeth (Derek) Hines, Matt (Kristin) Landsteiner, Josh (Jenna) Landsteiner, and Stephanie Landsteiner and fiance, Kelby Johnson; six great-grandchildren, Tyler and Evan, Kaitlyn and Devan, and Remmie and Korbin; siblings, Donald (Rose) Landsteiner of Mapleton, Dennis (Cathy) Landsteiner of Fremont, NE, Janet (Mayo) Flegel of Mankato, and Donna (Larry) Kreykes of Mankato; special friends, Connie Campbell, Brad Ebel, and B.B.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Clete was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers-in-law.
