Rev. Elmer W. Kellen
Rev. Elmer W. Kellen died on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, at St. Elizabeth Care Center in Wabasha, MN. Evening vigil will be on Tuesday, December 3, at 5:00 p.m. in St. Adrian Church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Adrian Church, Adrian, MN.
Father Kellen was born to Nicholas and Anna (Suedbeck) Kellen of rural Adrian, MN on June 25, 1924. He attended St. Paul Seminary in St. Paul, MN and on June 3, 1950, Bishop Edward A. Fitzgerald ordained him a priest at Sacred Heart Church in Heron Lake MN.
His brother, Clarence Kellen of Adrian, MN, survives Father Kellen. His parents, and his siblings Clafie, Leander, Marie (Kellen) Lovrien, and Inez (Kellen) Vint preceded him in death.
Father Kellen served the Church as a priest from 1950 to 2011, sixty-one years.
