    Elizabeth "Betty" Sticha, age 86 of Mankato, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Oaklawn Health Care Center.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 19, 2013 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in St. Henry, MN with Rev. Chris Shofner officiating.  A visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Monday and continue until the time of the service.  Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.  Memorials may be given to St. Henry's Catholic Church.  Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Lucy was born on June 10, 1927 to John and Anna (Oitzel) Huonder in St. Henry, MN.  She was united in marriage to James J. Sticha on June 25, 1949 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in St. Henry, MN.  Betty was a Nutritional Supervisor at ISJ Hospital for 40 years and worked for the Moose Lodge along with Home Care.  She was a member of the Women of Moose Lodge and American Legion Post #11 Women's Auxiliary.  Betty enjoyed taking her grandkids on trips, doing word finds, playing bridge with friends, playing Bingo, volunteering at the MRCI thrift store, doing anything to stay very busy and cruising around town in her red Mustang.  

    Betty is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Kevin) Oldridge; grandchildren, Christina Sticha and Kevin KJ (Kayla) Oldridge; great-grandchildren, Alec James Weimer and Marvin Oldridge; sisters, Marie (Ray) Schiprett and Louise (Leonard) Vyskocil and many nieces, nephews and friends.

    Betty was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, James "Jimmy" in 1981; an infant sister; and her two brothers, Jim and Johnny.

    Bettys family would like to send special thanks the staff of Oaklawn and Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice for their care and attention for "Sweet Betty".

    Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
