Vernon Anderson


— Vernon Anderson, age 85, of Le Sueur, and formerly of St. Peter, passed away peacefully at Minnesota Valley Health Care Center in Le Sueur on Monday, June 23, 2014.

  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 27, 2014 at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Rev. Alan Bray officiating.  Visitation will be from 4:30-7:00 pm Thursday (TODAY) at St. Peter Funeral Home ~Klein Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

  Vernon (Andy,Buster) Anderson was born on June 7, 1928 in Wausaw, NE.  At the age of 2 he moved to Storden, Mn.  He married Donna Taralseth of Gibbon, Mn. on March 12, 1949.  He worked for many years at the State Hospital in St. Peter; and lastly at the St. Peter Post Office.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He was also a member of the LeSueur Saddle Club for many years.

 Vernon was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years: Donna; his parents, Oscar and Edith Anderson of Storden; brother Oliver of New Ulm; brothers Melvin and Vincent of Westbrook; and his sister Leone Arfsten of Annandale.  He is survived by his daughter Kristine of Prior Lake; son Richard (Cathy) of Princeton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
